Industrial EO Reclamation
BOAZ Cryogenic recovery & Abatement system
About Ethylene oxide
EtO is produced in large volumes at some chemical manufacturing facilities. In the U.S.
, it is primarily used to make other chemicals that are used to make a range of products,
including antifreeze, textiles, plastics, detergents, and adhesives. EtO is also used to
sterilize some food products and spices.
Ethylene oxide is one of the most commonly used sterilization methods in the healthcare industry because of its non-damaging effects for delicate instruments and devices that require sterilization, and for its wide range of material compatibility.
It is used for instruments that cannot tolerate heat, moisture, or abrasive chemicals, such as electronics, optical equipment, paper, rubber, and plastics.
However, the usage of ethylene oxide might also effect human and the environment. Therefore, how to use EO in order to benefit our planet is one of the most critical situation the BOAZ is ready to face.
Recovery & EO Purification
Recovery and EO purification are the most important steps in the EO gas reclamation process. This step can now recover 90% or more of the gaseous EO for reuse.
At the same time, the BOAZ purification process is applied to the air exhausted into the environment. The BOAZ cryogenic recovery and purification system is installed to reclaim and purify exhaust air from production facilities. This system complies with U.S. emission regulations, achieving better than 99.9% emission control.
High EO Recovery, No Process Revalidation Needed
The BOAZ cryogenic recovery abatement system eliminates the need for revalidation, making it a worry-free solution. Moreover, the existing exhaust vent does not require revalidation, making it ideal for facilities where the emission vent is already registered and tested with local and EPA authorities. The BOAZ cryogenic abatement system operates seamlessly in such setups.
At our facility in Taiwan, a BOAZ recovery system has been installed and operational for two years. We have collected data on EO reclamation from four EO sterilizers, each with a usable capacity of 4 pallets.
