The BOAZ was one of eight technologies selected by the FDA for the Innovation Challenge.
The ideal is to have a sterilization process that recovers most, if not all, the ethylene oxide for reuse. Only a small amount of fresh additional EO is needed to make up for the unrecovered portion. Average EO recovery at TAST in Taiwan for the last 6 months operation during 2024 was an average 91% recovery for their four 4 pallet EO sterilizers.
Our BOAZ system collects the EO gas from the ethylene oxide sterilizer using your existing vacuum pumps. The EO gas goes through a series of heat exchangers, progressively cooling the gas to very low temperatures.
Installation of a BOAZ requires no change to your current EO sterilization practices, including equipment, cycle parameters and validation methods.
A BOAZ can cost up to 50% less than other current EO emission technologies to purchase and install. This will save your company significant money on capital equipment costs.
A BOAZ system, when installed at your new or existing EO facility, can recover 90% of the EO from your EO cycle.
A BOAZ can change your Group 2 Air Emissions Area Source based on your annual EO usage from 98% reduction being required to only an 80% reduction being required for EPA compliance.
